Traffic to Newspaper Websites Increased 20 Percent Since Last Year
FishbowlNY has officially declared today National Newspaper Love Day*. First we told you about the New York Times posting a profit, and now we’re happy to report that traffic to newspaper websites increased by 20 percent since last year.
According to the (completely unbiased) National Newspaper Association, average visits to about 20 newspaper websites increased by 21 percent, total pages viewed jumped 10 percent, total minutes spent on the sites grew by 11 percent, and unique visitors shot up nine percent.
Caroline Little, the NAA’s President and CEO was obviously happy. “Clearly, consumers place high value upon the content that newspapers create — and they are seeking out newspaper websites to get it,” she said.
