Well, this is a big day.
I’ve been writing about Twitter for over two years. In that time, I’ve published 530 posts – 531 counting this one – and received over 2500 comments.
(Thank YOU for that – it’s very much appreciated.)
For several weeks I’ve been in negotiations with Mediabistro.com, a division of WebMediaBrands. Mediabistro powers several very popular blogs in the social space, including AllFacebook, Social Times and AllTwitter.
Today I am pleased to announce that Mediabistro has acquired Twittercism.
Whoa, hold on. I know what you’re thinking. But don’t worry – this is a good thing. In fact, it’s a pretty darn great thing.
You won’t notice much of a difference for a while. I’ll be continuing to update Twittercism.com as I have always done. But shortly, Twittercism.com will merge with AllTwitter.com, and a new, bigger and significantly better beast will emerge.
This mighty behemoth will be hosted at AllTwitter.com. And once the merge has taken place, that’s where you’ll also find me, as all of my Twitter-related musings – new and old – will be published there.
What kind of musings can you expect? The same stuff you’ve been kind enough to read, comment upon and retweet for the past two years… but 25% better.
That’s right – I’m taking it up a gear. (And maybe even two.)
This wasn’t a decision I took lightly. This blog has always been my ‘baby’ – something my actual children have never been overly enthused about. It took a lot of soul-searching, many over-the-table discussions and multiple glasses of wine before my wife I decided that it was the right move. That it was the smart move.
Thanks to the backing of Mediabistro, Twittercism can now reach out to a much wider audience. I’ll be working with a team of talented bloggers at AllTwitter, but my posts will still be my posts. My voice. My analysis, my finger pointing, my philosophical ramblings and my good, old fashioned whimsy.
You know, the stuff you’ve hopefully come to enjoy.
Until then, let’s all fasten our seatbelts together. It’s gonna be an exciting ride.
