Want to fly for just 49 bucks? Virgin America is teaming up with Twitter to bring you a massive seat sale on select flights in the US, with prices as low as $49. And, there’s a charitable element to it all too.
The sale only lasts 24 hours, so check it out – quick!
The “Fly Forward, Give Back” campaign was announced on the Virgin America Twitter account (@VirginAmerica) this morning. They’ve also purchased a promoted trend to go along with the campaign, “#FlyFwdGiveBack Sale” . And yes, the promoted trend includes both a hashtag and a non-hashtag word. They’re also using Twitter’s newest ad product, Promoted Tweets To Followers, to target the more than 230,000 followers of the Virgin America Twitter account.
You can find a full list of flights on sale at this website. Flights to and from San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, Orlando, and even Cancun populate the list, with prices ranging from $49 to $169 for a one-way ticket. If you do purchase a ticket, it must be used before November 16th.
The sale itself is running today only, and will end at 11:59 PDT.
As part of this 24 hours flash sale, Virgin America will donate $5 from every sale to the non-profit Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C).
And just as an added touch of exclusivity, the promotion is being done solely through Twitter, so the airline is encouraging its followers to “Give pack, grab a seat, and don’t forget to retweet.”
