So, How Many Extra Servers Has Twitter Installed To Handle The Royal Wedding?
In case you haven’t heard, there’s a Royal Wedding tomorrow.
Yep: Prince William and Catherine ‘Kate’ Middleton are getting married at Westminster Abbey in London at 11am sharp. I know, right? You’d have thought the media would have picked up on it.
However you feel about such frivolity this will be a big deal, certainly when it comes to internet reportage. And all social media channels will be hit hard, too. So: how many extra servers has Twitter installed to ensure that things run super smoothly on this biggest of days?
Just the one, according to this amusing tweet from @twitterglobalpr.

As you can see, Justin Bieber and his ever-growing army of teenyboppers account for three times as much of a drain on the Twitter network as both Lady Gaga and the anticipated demand for all things Wills and Kate.
Well, not really. As it’s all a silly jape. Still, it’s good to see Twitter – and especially Mr Stone – having a bit of fun.
