Bleacher Report Ups NBA Game, Hires Howard Beck, Kevin Ding, Ethan Skolnick, Jared Zwerling

This is what you call one hell of a power move: Bleacher Report — much maligned for its lackluster content — has just hired four talented journalists. Howard Beck, Kevin Ding, Ethan Skolnick and Jared Zwerling are all joining the site, each contributing to the expansion of BR’s NBA coverage.

Beck is leaving The New York Times for BR. As any Knicks fan will tell you, Beck was the man for team news, and he’ll be missed. He joins BR as its national NBA writer. Ding comes to BR from The Orange County Register, where he had been the Los Angeles Lakers beat writer since 1999. He will continue to cover the Lakers for BR. Skolnick will be BR’s Miami Heat writer. He comes packing 17 years of experience with the Palm Beach Post, the Miami Herald and the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. Zwerling joins BR from ESPN.com, where he covered the Knicks and some team called the Brooklyn Nets. Never heard of them. Zwerling will serve as BR’s NBA analyst.

Skolnick, Ding and Zwerling’s appointments are effective immediately. Beck starts on September 23.
