John Stanton, a veteran of Roll Call, is joining BuzzFeed to head its Washington D.C. bureau. Politico reports that Stanton will be part of a BuzzFeed D.C. team which will include three more reporters.
BuzzFeed editor-in-chief Ben Smith said of the hire, “His hard-hitting, original reporting and creative thinking is exactly the sort of fast, smart, revelatory work that succeeds on the social web.”
Stanton begins July 9.
