David Carr on News Corp Split: Dark Times Ahead for Publishing Unit

David Carr has weighed in on News Corporation’s decision to split into two companies, and much like the rest of us, he sees trouble ahead for the publishing side. Carr says that running the newspapers would be horrible, considering all that would be going against the CEO who nabs “one of the worst jobs on the planet.”

The head of News Corp.’s print assists will have to deal with worried Wall Street Journal staffers, the fallout — and payouts — from the phone hacking scandal, and a stack of papers that are hemorrhaging money. One analyst Carr cited said The New York Post probably loses about $110 million a year.

To the soon to be named CEO of News Corp.’s publishing unit: Good luck with all that.
