Michael Bloomberg Headed Back to Bloomberg LP

Michael Bloomberg doesn’t need money, but he apparently wants to keep working. When he leaves the mayor’s office at the end of the year, Bloomberg is going to take a spot at Bloomberg, which is a luxury not many people can identify with. Capital New York reports that Bloomberg will be focusing his efforts on Bloomberg View, the op-ed site that no one reads.

The fact that View is barely ever mentioned in the press is likely the very reason Bloomberg is headed there. View was launched two years ago, with the goal of spreading Bloombergian opinions across the globe. But that never happened. And so, enter Bloomberg. He’s going to write for the site and ask his rich and powerful friends to contribute as well.

We doubt Bloomberg’s constant attention will be enough to make Bloomberg View a household name, but you can’t blame him for trying. In any case, it’ll be an interesting situation to monitor.

Oh, and let’s all say a prayer for whoever is responsible for editing Bloomberg’s pieces. That’s uh, not going to be fun.
