New York magazine is getting ready to launch New York Deals, a service that gathers the best of the many e-commerce deals that are out there, and then submits them to you. The service – which launches on the 11th – already has some partners, including Gilt City, zozi, BuyWithMe, and Lifebooker.
Serena Torrey, New York Media’s Executive Director of Digital Business Development, says that New York Deals will be unique:
It’s incredibly difficult for busy people to know which email is worth opening and which deal is worth buying, particularly when the businesses featured are unfamiliar. New York Deals aims to solve this problem for users: by subscribing to the New York Deals newsletter, New Yorkers will be receiving a short, weekly list of the deals that are most worthy of their attention, and possibly a slice of their paycheck.
Look, FishbowlNY loves New York, but saying that you’re going to solve the overcrowded inbox problem for people by sending them another email isn’t exactly the smartest thing ever.
