A couple Revolving Door items to note this morning, involving The New York Times and Hearst Magazines International. Details are below.
- Via a memo obtained by Jim Romenesko: Tyson Evans and Jonathan Galinsky are joining the New York Times’ new newsroom strategy team. Evans has served as a deputy editor of interactive news; Galinsky a manager with strategy and development. The team will ”focus on working with the masthead to identify, develop and prioritize digital initiatives, implementing some of the recommendations in the Innovation Report, and collaborating with colleagues throughout the building to ensure we’re keeping pace with the fast-changing needs and habits of our readers.”
- Hearst Magazines International has promoted Peter Yates from creative director to executive creative director of international branding. He had served as creative director since 2009. Before joining Hearst, Yates was the founding design director of Cargo magazine, and previously served as design director of ESPN The Magazine.
