Time Names New Europe Editor
Time has promoted Catherine Mayer to the role of Europe Editor. Mayer joined Time in 2004 and has been the magazine’s London Bureau Chief since 2006.
Mayer now joins the ranks of Jim Frederick, Time International’s Editor and Zoher Abdoolcarim, the magazine’s Asia Editor.
“She [Mayer] will help Time expand, deepen and enrich our international coverage on all platforms and work closely with our business side to seek out new opportunities for growth,” wrote Rick Stengel in an internal memo. He added that she will continue to pen British culture pieces and profiles “as often as her new duties will allow.”
