We suspect this is what Dan Quayle meant when we railed against the "cultural elite" in the early '90s:

On its log-in page, it describes its members as "like-minded individuals" who share the "same circle of friends, interests and schedule. Invitations are difficult to come by: only some members have the right to invite friends to join."

Or, as the website says:

"If you have not received an invitation, you can ask your friends to invite you. If you have no friends who are members yet, you simply need to be patient."

And now, Harvey and Bob Weinstein own a piece of the site, which counts both Quetin Tarantino and Naomi Campbell as members.

The website's revenue suppossedly comes from ads for luxury items. Which makes sense: At the rate Naomi goes through phones, she's gonna be in the market for all sorts of high-end replacements.
