Pelosi Remembers Toner

A statement from Rep. Nancy Pelosi:

The entire Washington community is mourning the loss of one of our own: Robin Toner.

Robin was an extremely talented writer and reporter who was greatly respected by all for the superb quality and seriousness of her work. She was accurate and fair, but her real gift was her ability to explain policy in terms of its real impact on people. She never lost sight of the fact that politicians work for the people who have elected them, and that journalists are a key link between Members of Congress and their constituents.

It was a privilege to work with Robin for nearly 20 years. It was a personal point of pride for me that she was the first woman to be the national political correspondent for the New York Times.

Robin enjoyed politics and devoured policy, but above all else, she loved her family, especially her husband Peter Gosselin and her children, Nora and Jacob. I hope it is a comfort to them and to all who loved her that so many are praying for them at this sad time.
