Loeb Accuses Yahoo Officials of Résumé Padding (NYT/DealBook)
In a letter sent to Yahoo's board on Thursday, Mr. Loeb, the founder of the hedge fund Third Point, said that Yahoo's chief executive, Scott Thompson, had falsified his résumé to include a degree in computer science that Mr. Thompson never earned. PCWorld Yahoo said late Thursday that its board will review a discrepancy in the resume of its CEO, Scott Thompson, and "make an appropriate disclosure" to its shareholders.
8th Grader Petitions Seventeen Magazine to Feature Un-Airbrushed Photos (ABC News)
Julia Bluhm, an 8th grader from Waterville, Maine, has recently become a crusader against airbrushed ads. The 14-year-old traveled to New York City Wednesday to lead a protest, which was set up like a mock photo shoot, on the doorstep of the offices of the Hearst Corporation, which owns Seventeen magazine, one of the biggest teen magazines in the fashion industry.
