Heinz Now Makes it Easier to Soak Your Fries in Ketchup

heinz2.01.jpg

We’ll no longer have to suffer the burden of gnawing on ketchup packets in order to enjoy our fries or whatever other fast-food vice we may have. Yesterday, Heinz unveiled its newly redesigned ketchup package (the first major packet makeover for the condiment in 42 years according to the brand) that can be peeled back for dipping or squeezed at the end and is three times the size of the normal Heinz packet that we’re used to.

It’s not really a groundbreaking design considering that McDonald’s and Taco Bell have been basically using the same model–squeeze capabilities aside–for their dipping sauces for like, ever. Still, it appears that the brand’s design team really had it in mind to make it easier for customers to stuff their faces while on the road when concocting version 2.0. Heinz VP Dave Ciesinski tells the AP, “The packet has long been the bane of our consumers. The biggest complaint is there is no way to dip and eat it on-the-go.” Problem solved it seems.
