How Does One ‘Rebrand the Apocalypse?’ A Barkley Designer Fills Us In

Describing this as his “anti-love letter to the ad business,” Chris Riebschlager, a designer/developer at Kansas City shop Barkley, recently performed a little stand-up of sorts during a recent local ad club event. The theme? Well, as mentioned in the hed, it’s how to rebrand the apocalypse, which according to the Mayans, is set to get underway on Dec. 21 of this year.

As you can see in this clip, which we think is good enough to retain eyeballs through its full running time, Reibschlager (who’s also worked at KC ops like VML and Bernstein-Rein) takes the piss with the ad industry and all its increasingly annoying talking points. Everything from demographics to focus groups to execution concepts to timelines are in tow, all of course with tongue firmly in cheek. Consider us entertained.
