There’s a fine line between parody and ripoff, but in this case, we’ll have to side with the latter. Buttonmasher fills us in on this campaign for New Zealand’s TV3, which basically lifts the entire storyboard from one of Deutsch’s PS3 spots starring fictional pitchman Kevin Butler. From the hair metal scene to the spokesperson to the reactions, it’s hard to deny the glaring similarities. While we doubt the Sony camp gave the OK on this, saying it’s an homage is also too easy of a cop-out. See for yourself below.
