Madison Ave Walk of Fame Winners Announced

The Madison Avenue Advertising Walk of Fame honors, a top candidate for Advertising Week’s most frivolous event, announced its 2009 inductees this evening in Times Square.

With a horde of dudes dressed like advertising staples such as Mr. Clean, McGruff the Crime Dog and Smokey Bear on hand to watch, this year’s icon honors went to the AOL Running Man and the Budweiser Clydesdales while favorite slogan winners were “Like a Good Neighbor, State Farm is There” and “Virginia is For Lovers” from the Virginia Board of Tourism.

But somewhere amidst all the bright lights and general chaos of the midtown Manhattan tourist trap, we hope Subway’s Jared, the Burger King and Ronald McDonald are getting hooked up by fellow nominee Captain Morgan to ease the pain of yet another loss.
