Well, it’s finally official. Publicis Groupe SA announced that it’s closed its $530 million acquisition of Razorfish, which in return guarantees Microsoft 6.5 million Publicis Groupe ordinary shares held as treasury shares and $286.8 million in cash paid out of Publicis Groupe’s cash reserves. This effectively gives the Redmond, WA giant a 3.3% stake in the holding company according to the release.

With the deal closed, Razorfish will now be added to the roster of VivaKi, Publicis’ media and digital umbrella that also includes Starcom MediaVest Group, Digitas and Denuo among others. David Kenny, Managing Partner of VivaKi and member of the Publicis Groupe Management Board, will be responsible for the integrating Razorfish to the fold.
