Ralph Lauren Canned Photoshopped Model for Being “Overweight”

In the wake of Ralph Lauren’s “sincere” apology for Photoshopping virtually the entire torso off model Filippa Hamilton in an ad that appeared in Japan, the 5’10″, 120 lb. beauty (more realistical shot above) reveals to the NY Daily News that she was actually dumped by the brand earlier this year for being “overweight.” Ralph Lauren’s excuse? Hamilton was axed “as a result of her inability to meet the obligations under her contract with us” while also telling her modeling agency Next that she became “too fat” to fit into RL clothing.

As Jezebel says, the company has “turned a small PR crisis into a full-fledged disaster.”
