Slovakian Billboards Double as Homeless Shelters

Sound strange for an ad campaign? What if it were real? According to AdWeek, it is.

Billboards have often served as placards for cause marketing and conscientious messaging, so why not use them for something more tangible, like a literal roof over someone’s head?

In Slovakia, an architectural firm called Design Develop created a philanthropic arm of their work with ‘The Gregory Project.’ Its mission:

“to find optimal alternatives for existentional [sic] questions of people without a home through the use of billboard objects and their advertisment [sic] spaces.”

We appreciate their community outreach efforts even as we decry their spelling.

If you have an affinity for music and are an expert strategist, Billboard needs you. The company is on the hunt for a new senior marketing manager to support its brand and sales team.

If hired, you’ll be developing marketing ideas and creating materials for Billboard’s online, print and event properties, while managing relationships and executing programs for major sponsors. The ultimate goal is to drive ad revenue for Billboard.com, Billboard magazine, Billboard.biz, Billboard events and other Billboard brand extensions, so you’ll be working closely with partners and sponsors to ensure client satisfaction.

A minimum of three years in the media, at a marketing company or a creative agency with direct digital marketing and advertising experience is a must.
