Campfire Promotes Sutterfield to COO

NYC-based shop Campfire, which as you may know has done work for HBO (True Blood, Game of Thrones, etc.) and Discovery’s “Shark Week,” promoted Jason Sutterfield to COO. Sutterfield joined the agency in January as head of production and did indeed work on the multi-pronged Thrones season one campaign and will report to Campfire president, Jeremiah Rosen. The new COO, as we initially noted, joined from Barbarian Group, where he was an executive producer and oversaw Samsung’s North American campaigns for 10 months. Prior to that, he served as director of technology and production at the Martin Agency (two-and-a-half years).

As COO, Sutterfield will oversee all the fun stuff including daily agency operations, HR, production…you get the idea.

Campfire Adds, Welcomes Back Staffers

NYC-based Campfire, the indie shop founded by the Blair Witch co-creators and masterminds of HBO’s True Blood and Discovery’s “Shark Week” campaigns, has announced new hires including Jason Sutterfield as head of production. Sutterfield joins from Barbarian Group, where he was EP/director of programming and produced Samsung’s North American campaigns. Prior to TBG, Sutterfield held production/technology-based posts at the Martin Agency and Richards Group.

Along with Sutterfield, Campfire welcomes back Simone Oppenheimer, who left Campfire after four years for a brief stint as director of brand development at Big Fuel. Oppenheimer’s new post at Campfire is director of business development. In addition to the new hires and reunions, Campfire also promoted Marianne Raphael to group account director on Harley-Davidson, HBO, Discovery and Snapple among others.
