Team One Launches Annual ‘December to Remember’ Push for Lexus

Team One has launched the annual “December to Remember” holiday sales event for Lexus with a new integrated campaign built around three broadcast spots.

In each of the 30-second spots parents present a different explanation for how exactly Santa manages to deliver a luxury sedan. The parents in “Christmas Train” explain how an iconic holiday train made its way to their driveway, where elves helped unload it right to the driveway — complete with Lexus’ signature red bow. In “Magic Box,” the car magically self-assembles from a small box Santa places in the driveway, while in “Teleporter” it is beamed in directly from the North Pole.

The broadcast spots begin airing today on network and cable television, with “Christmas Train” also being translated for Hispanic and Asian-American markets. Additionally, the campaign is supported by print and OOH executions, as well as a digital partnership with The Weather Channel which will “provide targeted December Sales Event ads in real time based on local weather conditions.”

“The holidays are a time of year when people indulge their imaginations and share stories filled with magic and wonder,” said Brian Smith, Lexus vice president of marketing. “This year’s holiday campaign celebrates the tradition of storytelling and reminds us that children aren’t the only ones who get to have fun this time of year.” Read more

Xbox, twofifteenmccann Fly Interactive Fizzie Balloon at E3

Fizzie, a character in the upcoming game Sunset Overdrive from developer Insomniac Games, made an appearance at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo in the form of a large, interactive balloon flying in the lobby at the Los Angeles Convention Center from June 10th – June 12th.

Brought to life by Xbox and twofifteenmccann, Fizzie takes questions from the E3 crowd, offering up invariably sarcastic answers. In Sunset Overdrive, Fizzie “is a talking balloon that hovers over Sunset City and is the cheery face of the Fizzco Corporation while acting as the perfect corporate shill.” So what better place for Fizzie to make an appearance than the largest trade show in the video game industry, rife with event marketers attempting to woo customers and media alike. If you’re not lucky enough to make it to E3 this year, you can still keep up with Fizzie’s antics on Twitter via the hashtag #FizzieSays. For footage of Fizzie in action, check out the video above, and stick around after the jump for credits. Read more

HP Touches Windows 8 in All the Right Places

Upon seeing the above BBDO NY-created spot for HP and Windows 8, it seemed like yet another attempt by the PC world to make their products appeal to the hippest masses a la Apple. In fact, it reminded me of the “I’m a PC” campaign that Windows ran a few years back, with popular indie DJ Girl Talk yelling the phrase before he jumped in a mosh pit of sweaty teenagers. However, I would encourage you to watch the entire 30-second spot, as the reveal at the end is what makes this great.

Sure, DJ Robbie Wilde has an exceptionally unique situation for which the touch capabilities of Windows 8 are helpful to him. But, this spot both demonstrates the product, tells a touching story and displays the “cool factor” all in 30 seconds, which is just about as much as you can ask for.

Credits and a second, less-compelling spot follow after the jump.

Fiat Introduces Itself to U.S. via Engaging Music Video

Move over Eminem-biting Chrysler ads, as parent company/partner/whatever you call it Fiat is saying hello to the US of A and heralding its 2012 500 line with a nearly three-minute music video complete with nifty editing and effects as well as the centerpiece, which is a remix of Vivaldi’s “Concerto in D Major, Rv 228″ that comes to us courtesy of L.A.-based act Glitch Mob. The spot was created by Impatto Detroit, though there’ s no Motor City pride mantras floating about, just sheer, fun short attention span theater. Credits after the jump.
