Ty Montague Named Chairman of ANDYs

Ty Montague, co-prez and CCO of JWT North America, has been named Chairman of the ANDYs.

Said Gina Grillo, executive director of The ADVERTISING Club, which produces the International ANDY Awards.”The criteria for our decision was based on the fact that Ty has not only been a positive influence as a past juror but is one of the most accomplished global creatives in the business, committed to industry excellence and the growth of the Show. Our team is very excited to work with him and look forward to his creative plans for the 2010 ANDYs.”

So there you go. We’re not totally surprised by this since Montague played a big role in this year’s ANDYs, judging and presenting (like half the show). Interesting time to announce this, given the One Show is happening like, right now.
