We Hear: Layoffs at TBWA\Chiat\Day NY and Leo Burnett Chicago

In your late week, late bad day news, we’re hearing two agencies have had layoffs today or yesterday. TBWA\Chiat\Day New York and Leo Burnett Chicago have both allegedly cut jobs today.

Regarding Leo Burnett, a source tells us he/she was one of many let go, according to whoever pulled the trigger.

Our TBWA spy says that up to 20 may have been let go, but that is also to be confirmed.

Update: (Leo Burnett) We’ve confirmed that Leo Burnett’s Chicago office has suffered some layoffs. A company representative said fewer than 10 employees were let go, which represents less than 1% of staff between Leo Burnett and Arc.

Update (TBWA\Chiat\Day): A source informs us that a few Chiat LA employees were let go as well, and last week some “young bloods” were let go.
