Congrats Margaret! From an internal PBS announcement, obtained by FishbowlDC: I am very pleased to announce that Senior Correspondent Margaret Warner has been awarded the 2008 Edward Weintal Prize for International Reporting. Presented annually by Georgetown University's Institute for the Study of Diplomacy, the award recognizes Margaret for her distinguished reporting on and interviews with "the men and women who are shaping every facet of today's world." This award is a Very Big Deal and a well-deserved acknowledgment of Margaret's journalistic skill and integrity. Congratulations to her, and to everyone who helped make her reports so exceptional. The other winner of this award is columnist Trudy Rubin of The Philadelphia Inquirer, who is a NewsHour regular. Another frequent guest, Walter Pincus of the Washington Post, will receive a special citation. If you're known by the company you keep, the NewsHour is certainly in very good company. Better yet, the awards announcement includes a paragraph that Margaret and I think should be music to all our ears: Email This Post |
