"I do think that the quality which makes a man want to write and be read is essentially a desire for self-exposure and is masochistic. Like one of those guys who has a compulsion to take his thing out and show it on the street." - James Jones

Conservatives headed to the Mayflower Hotel last night to celebrate Jonah Goldberg's book, "Liberal Fascism." They included Andrew Ferguson, Tucker Carlson, Bill Kristol, Barbara Comstock, Matt Labash, Lucianne Goldberg, Byron York, Cliff May, Kate O'Beirne and Ramesh Ponnuru.

In his introductory remarks, Ponnuru said that it looked as if the Weekly Standard people in the house were drinking more liquor than the National Review folks. Even Goldberg admitted relative sobriety: "How adult am I that I've only had one drink from the bar and my daughter has had two."
Given the party's location, it was amazing that no conservative took the opportunity to poke of fun of a certain Democrat's latest foibles barely 8 floors above.
