How many suits do you own? Three, plus a tuxedo. I owned one suit for about ten years after college, but when I started covering the Hill I figured I better dress like I belong up there , so I bought a couple of suits.

What word do you routinely misspell? I ocassionaly mispell occasionally.

Did you see Brokeback Mountain? Yes. Loved the soundtrack.

Did you see The Da Vinci Code? Yes. And read the book.

What's the name of your cell phone ring? It's usually on vibrate, but when the ring is on I have it set to "When the Saints Come Marching In" - a tribute to New Orleans.

What time did you get up this morning? That's a trick question in my household these days. I got up for the first time at 6:00 a.m. to feed our four-month old baby, then went back to bed again for an hour.

When did you last cry and why? I've probably gotten a little weepy a half dozen times in the past few months just looking at our new baby girl.

Which of the seven deadly sins are you? Gluttony? I love to cook for my family, and eat what I cook .

Beach, city or country? Beach. I don't care whether it's Ocean City, Nags Head or St. Barts - I'll take a bad day at the beach over a good day in the city.

Would you say you're cute? Pretty? Hot? Beautiful? Ask my wife.

What color is your bathroom? Kind of a deep royal blue, with white trim.

How many emails do you receive a day, roughly? About 150 when Congress is in session, about 50 during recess.

What's your opinion of New York City? Great place to eat, drink, hang out, but not affordable to live there on a journalist's wage.

What's your favorite letter? E. It's the first letter of my daughter's name.

What single person played the biggest role / had the biggest influence on your journalism career? In the early days, my dad, an advertising executive at The Washington Post, encouraged me to pursue my dreams of being a reporter. In my adulthood, my wife, freelance writer Suz Redfearn, has been my number one fan, confidence booster and motivator.

Have you ever downloaded a podcast? If so, which one? No. Does that make me a luddite?

Who's your all-time favorite American Idol candidate? I will admit that I have downloaded three Kelly Clarkson songs on my iPod, so I guess that answers that question.

When's the last time you volunteered? Where? I was part of a large group that helped clean up Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens in NE DC as part of Servathon last year.

Who is your favorite active journalist? That's a tough one. I admire Mike Allen's work ethic, Mark Leibovich's writing style, Bob Woodward's access to power, and my wife's creativity. If you combined them all you'd have some sort of journalism super hero.

What did you have for breakfast? Whole grain blueberry toaster waffles and iced coffee.

What's your favorite item of clothing? My six Hawaiian shirts.

What one toiletry item could you not live without? Well I'd hate to wake up without a toothbrush, but I will admit that I use my wife's Aveda hair gel pretty much every day.

If you could have one superpower, which one would it be? I'd like to be able to stop time. I'm sure I'd use it to save humankind, but I might also help the Redskins offense a time or two with this super power.
