"I do think that the quality which makes a man want to write and be read is essentially a desire for self-exposure and is masochistic. Like one of those guys who has a compulsion to take his thing out and show it on the street." - James Jones

DC's Promiscuous Journalists

Using the so-called Slut-o-Meter and the Washingtonian's list of 50 Best Journalists, we've determined the "promiscuity" of area journalists. Cuz, well, why not.

The formula works by comparing the number of Google "safe search" results on a particular subject with the number of normal Google search results. For example, if a search on a particular subject returned 5 "safe search" results and 10 normal search results, that person is considered 50 percent promiscuous.

By this formula, the Top Ten Most Promiscuous Journalists in DC are as follows ("Popularity" indicates the number of times the subject has been run through the Slut-o-Meter):

1. Michael Isikoff
Promiscuity: 75.77% (563000 / 743000)
Popularity: 2

2. Howard Kurtz
Promiscuity: 38.32% (256000 / 668000)
Popularity: 1

3. Seymour Hersh
