When did you last cry and why? Interviewing survivors of the World Trade Center attack. I wasn't expecting the stories to be that vivid.

Beach, city or country? I have all three. Beach house in the summer, apartment in the city, mother in the country. But if I had to pick a permanent location, it would be the country.

Would you say you're cute? Pretty? Hot? Beautiful? My partner says yes. That's good enough for me.

Have you ever downloaded a podcast? If so, which one? Once I downloaded a Meet the Press episode with Pat Roberts and someone I forget now. There was no video, so I listened to it at the gym to distract me from the pain of running.

Who's your all-time favorite American Idol candidate? Shemp?

When's the last time you volunteered? Where? I volunteered my opinion at the last staff meeting, but that's hardly a public service. I did, however, help repaint an elementary school two years ago.

Who is your favorite active journalist? I'm sure I'm supposed to say Andy Rooney, but the real answer is Malcolm Gladwell.

What did you have for breakfast? I know I'm supposed to say Andy Rooney, but it was a Raisin Walnut Clif Bar.

What's your favorite item of clothing? My gray Monhegan, Maine, t-shirt

What one toiletry item could you not live without? Can't you ask me something easy, like who is a better role model, GI Joe or Barbie?

If you could have one superpower, which one would it be? Mind-reading.
