(Wo)Man Down In The DC Gossip WarsThe Washingtonian's Harry Jaffe points out a trend in D.C. gossip that many have noticed, but few have said aloud -- Friday was the "third time in the last two months" when the Washington Post's Reliable Source was trumped by Roll Call's Mary Ann Akers. Asking if there is in fact a Washington gossip war, Jaffe is met with "absolutely" from Amy Argetsinger. The Washington Times' John McCaslin: "There are all kinds of new pressures out there. I've never seen the competition so intense." Still, McCaslin says, "There's more than enough to go around." While we can only hope this leads to a public cat fight between Akers and the WaPo team (Argetsinger seemed "miffed" when Jaffe mentioned that she and Roxanne Roberts have been battling neck and neck with Akers), there is now one less player in game as... ...Karen Feld and the Examiner have parted ways. Feld takes her Buzz to the great unknown... Is Feld the first casualty of this war? Email This Post |
