What time did you get up this morning? 5:30 or 6. I was tired, I don't remember.

When did you last cry and why? After Pennsylvania primary, when a continuing Dem race ensured that my developing twitch, lack of sleep and returning heartburn were here to stay.

How many emails do you receive a day, roughly? 200. I made the mistake of asking Ken Spain to put me on all his email lists. He took me literally. Thanks, Ken.

What's your favorite letter? B. Always the easiest to use in bad illiteration.

What single person played the biggest role / had the biggest influence on your journalism career? Chuck Todd. Gave this stupid kid right out of college the opportunity to prove myself, then taught me all I know. So blame him.

When's the last time you volunteered? Where? Too long ago, when volunteer extraordinaire Nora McAlvanah brought us to Sam's Inn, a place for people who need it come to get help. We cooked dinner. A source of some of my best memories from my Hotline days.

Who is your favorite active journalist? I feel bad picking just one. There's no better analyst than Chuck Todd, and there's no better color man than the New Yorker's Ryan Lizza.
