"I do think that the quality which makes a man want to write and be read is essentially a desire for self-exposure and is masochistic. Like one of those guys who has a compulsion to take his thing out and show it on the street." - James Jones

Morning Reading List, 09.17.08

Good morning Washington.

Got a blind item, interesting link, funny note, comment, birthday, anniversary or anything of the sort for Morning Reading List? Drop us a line or let us know in the tips box below.

We've got your morning mix of media Muesli after the jump...

Today is the birthday of Steve Scully, Kathryn Phelps, Richard Wolffe and Doug Johnson. Charles Grassley is 75 today. David Souter is 69 (Doug E. Fresh is 42). 221 years ago, the U.S. Constitution was completed and signed by a majority of delegates in Philadelphia. 36 years ago, M*A*S*H debuted. 12 years ago, Spiro Agnew passed. You think McCain's Campaign Ads are inaccurate and shameful. Question: Will Fox News Sunday start its "Palin Clock" (like the Obama Clock) to count how long it takes Sarah Palin to appear on FNS? Chris Wallace read a viewer email along those lines on Sunday. Check out today's White House Photo of the Day from Time. Today's "Angry Journalist" rant of the day: "I hate government officials when they don't talk to you because you're new"
