Nielsen Wire reports, "Voters not yet committed to either candidate were 12% more engaged by TV coverage of the GOP convention than the Democratic convention, according to an analysis released Monday by Nielsen IAG. ... John McCain's acceptance speech on September 4 drew the most attentive audience of uncommitted viewers, Nielsen reported."
DCRTV reported yesterday, "A caller to Rush Limbaugh's radio show today claims that an Emmy awards retrospective last night of famous TV personalities who passed away in the past year neglected to include Tony Snow, the DC-based Fox News anchor and show host who went on to become White House press secretary. Snow died of colon cancer in July....."
A release announced, "With only six weeks remaining until the presidential election, The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer on PBS will take a four-part 'Close Up' look at candidates John McCain and Barak Obama, to examine how their past experiences has shaped the kind of leadership each may bring to the White House." The series began last night.

Chickabomer reports, "The National Association for Broadcasters awards DC's WMAL Radio the prestigious Marconi Award for Major Market Station of the Year. The award was presented Thursday night at the 2008 NAB Radio Show in Austin, Texas hosted by 'Access Hollywood's' Billy Bush ('Billy Bush Show' on Westwood One). WMAL beat out four other stations including KBWF-FM and KOIT-FM San Francisco, KIIS-FM Los Angeles, and WBLS-FM NYC."
