The Post Co. also distributes its brand to people who don't request it. Logan Circle resident Michael Sirvet says he's been getting something called the Washington Post Shopping Guide 'forever.' When he finds the weekly promotional piece in his mailbox, he follows a simple routine that involves throwing it away."

A release announced, "Reporters Without Borders calls on the office of the UN secretary-general to intercede on behalf of husband-and-wife journalists Tomas Granados Jimenez and Ilsa Rodriguez Santana -- both UN correspondents for the Cuban news agency Prensa Latina -- who were refused visas to reenter the United States after a short holiday in Cuba. Based in New York for the past three years, the couple were not given any explanation by the US authorities for the refusal, which Reporters Without Borders regards as arbitrary.
