"I do think that the quality which makes a man want to write and be read is essentially a desire for self-exposure and is masochistic. Like one of those guys who has a compulsion to take his thing out and show it on the street." - James Jones

Taking Out The Trash, 09.13.06

  • Man, how badly does Tucker wish our Poll Of The Day were the official results?

  • CNN anchorman Thomas Roberts "acknowledged that he is gay while speaking Friday at the annual convention of the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association in Miami." Four days later, "Reuters reported Tuesday that a shuffling of the desk chairs at CNN for budgetary reasons will mean the cancellation of the 4-6 p.m. newscast co-anchored by Roberts. He and his co-anchor, Kathleen Kennedy, are reportedly being reassigned."

  • E&P points out that Robert Novak "challenged the story of Richard Armitage" as he reveals his version of the "real story behind Armitage story."

  • Cousin TVNewser tells us that a new segment called "Capitol Bob" will start tomorrow on the Early Show, featuring Bob Schieffer.

  • A reader writes in saying "NY Times spreads rumors of Condi's sex life, criticizes other gossipmongers who dare to do the same."

  • New Postie Michael Gerson's claim to fame.

  • From The Washington Times' Insider Politics Blog: "The Washington Post apparently so hungers for a Democratic victory in November that it has lost its mind."

  • The winners and losers of Capitol Leader's backlash.

  • His Extreme-ness questions the WaPo induced macca uproar -- did they really never define it? "And if it was never defined, then why the uproar?"

  • Eat The Press' Rachel Sklar on ABC's "Path To 9-11": "The information about its contents was documented extensively in a number of places, so I was well aware of the factual anomalies and flat-out fictionalizations relating to Sandy Berger, Madeleine Albright, and Bill Clinton. It was also widely reported that hey, the documentary was tough on the Bush administration, too. After watching part two last night, however, I now know that that was not the case."
