When did you last cry and why? I've cried almost every day since I got to Washington - - my 4 and 6 year--old are still in Israel finishing school staying with my husband Greg - they will all come here at the end of May.

Which of the seven deadly sins are you? Gluttony - in fact I am eating some chocolate right this minute.

Beach, city or country? Beach: Cape Point, South Africa - the bottom tip of Africa where I met my husband, Greg.

What color is your bathroom? Well, I am staying right now in my mom's basement in the house that I grew up in while we renovate a house in Washington. The bathroom is a cheery yellow from when its last tenant was a teenager. My new bathroom will be done in Jerusalem stone.

How many emails do you receive a day, roughly? Hundreds - if I don't erase most of them (often before I even read them) before I go home - the system crashes!

What's your opinion of New York City? Best city on Earth!

What's your favorite letter? A - the first letter in my daughters' names: Annalise and Amelia

What single person played the biggest role / had the biggest influence on your journalism career? My mom and Nelson Mandela. My mom encouraged me to go to South Africa. Mandela's release from prison was my first news story.

Have you ever downloaded a podcast? If so, which one? Usually ones reviewing my mom's latest play - she runs a theater in Alexandria, Virginia called MetroStage.

Who's your all-time favorite American Idol candidate? Sanjaya, of course.

When's the last time you volunteered? Where? Before I left Israel I did a toy drive for an orphanage in Bethlehem called Holy Family. I used to collect donations: clothes and toys from expatriates living in Jerusalem for the orphanage a few times a year.

Who is your favorite active journalist? My husband Greg Myre.

What did you have for breakfast? Toast that I shared with my Mom's dog Zoe.

What's your favorite item of clothing? The fur coat from BCBG that my sister Caitlin and I bought for half price at an end of season sale. I just got to wear it on my trip with Secretary of Defense Robert Gates to Moscow. Perfect for walking around the Kremlin. It was still snowing when we landed on April 23.

What one toiletry item could you not live without? MAC Studio Tech NC30

If you could have one superpower, which one would it be? There is only one remaining superpower, and for better or worse we're it - with all the responsibilities and problems that go along with it.
