Haddad Will Oversee Political and Election Coverage For MSNBC

Continues As Executive Producer of "Hardball with Chris Matthews"

SECAUCUS, NJ – July 27, 2006 – Award-winning broadcaster Tammy Haddad has been named Vice President, Washington for MSNBC, overseeing political and election coverage for the network from MSNBC's Washington office. She will also continue in her role as Executive Producer of "Hardball with Chris Matthews." The announcement was made by Dan Abrams, General Manager of MSNBC. Haddad will report to Abrams.

For the past two years, Haddad has served as Executive Producer of "Hardball" and MSNBC'S primetime political director. In that role, she has overseen the coverage of the 2004 presidential election as well as MSNBC's signature political program, "Hardball." She also developed a series of specials and documentaries including "Picking the Next President," the Hardball Heroes Tour and "JFK: The Day that Changed America." Haddad came to MSNBC in June of 2003 as Executive in Charge of the daily political show, "Buchanan and Press."

"'Hardball' is the smartest political program on cable, and one of the reasons it is so good, is Tammy Haddad," said Abrams. "She is one of the most tenacious, driven and energetic producers out there – she takes tremendous pride in her work for the network and for Chris Matthews and we are thrilled to have her on our team."

"Tammy has been my friend for over twenty years," said Chris Matthews. "She is a big-time winner who delivers on her grand ideas."

Tammy Haddad is one of the original creators and the longtime Executive Producer of "Larry King Live." Haddad left CNN in 1993 for NBC's "Today" show, where she worked as a Senior Broadcast Producer. She then moved to David Letterman's Worldwide Pants to launch the late night talk show, "The Late Late Show with Tom Snyder," for CBS.

In addition to her extensive work in television, she has a variety of start-up experience including the Fox News Channel, "Larry King TNT Extra" for TNT, "The McLaughlin Group," and the re-launch of the daytime show, "Maury Povich." Prior to joining MSNBC, Haddad consulted to People magazine for television development as well as magazine story development. She served as a media consultant to the non-profit organization, The Vaccine Fund, funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and currently is on the board of the Miss America Pageant.

Haddad is the recipient of numerous awards including two John Foster Peabody awards, and five Cable Ace awards. She lives in Washington with her husband, Ted Greenberg, Special Counsel for International Money-Laundering at the World Bank, and her children, Rachel and David.
