UPDATE: Considering this earlier announcement (emph. added)... Washington Post Co. (WPO) on Friday announced the appointment of Katharine Weymouth as chief executive officer of its new unit, Washington Post Media, and publisher of the Washington Post newspaper. In the publisher title, Weymouth succeeds Boisfeuillet Jones, Jr., who will become the vice chairman of the company. ...it seems like Little's position became redundant. With Weymouth overseeing both properties (and expressing a desire to bring Post/post.com together) it probably did not make sense to have separate print and web publishers. UPDATE: A big meeting is taking place right now about it. UPDATE: Jen Moyer is interim CEO.
