Washington Post Co. (WPO) on Friday announced the appointment of Katharine Weymouth as chief executive officer of its new unit, Washington Post Media, and publisher of the Washington Post newspaper. In the publisher title, Weymouth succeeds Boisfeuillet Jones, Jr., who will become the vice chairman of the company.
The company said that the new unit will include the newspaper and washingtonpost.com, and Weymouth, granddaughter of late chairman Katharine Graham, is the fifth member of the Graham family to hold the title of the publisher of the Washington Post.

...it seems like Little's position became redundant. With Weymouth overseeing both properties (and expressing a desire to bring Post/post.com together) it probably did not make sense to have separate print and web publishers.
