Applebaum Update

After breaking the news of Anne Applebaum’s departure yesterday, we learn a bit more…(which she verifies in her column today)

  • Yes, yes, her husband isn’t just anybody…he’s been named Defense Minister of Poland.

  • She’ll return to the Post (and Slate) in a few months to continue her column as well as begin work on a book, although her column will be written from Poland and elsewhere throughout Europe.

  • The Post’s recent hiring of Jo-Ann Armao does add another female to the male-heavy editorial board.
