Brian Wilson Shown the Door at Fox News?

We’re hearing that Fox News’s Brian Wilson, an anchor and reporter, has been suspended from the network. Friends of Wilson say he doesn’t expect to return.

Wilson hosted Saturday’s edition of “America’s News Headquarters.” He joined the network in 1998 and was D.C. Bureau Chief briefly in 2007 until he was replaced by the former Washington Examiner‘s Bill Sammon.

As some may know, Wilson had a very brief stint as the DC Bureau chief, but things were turbulent. He had a number of personnel problems, including temper tantrums and threatening producers in the newsroom with his outbursts.

Irena Briganti, head of Fox News PR in New York, is out of the office until Sept. 16, as the bounceback e-mail states. We have sought comment from elsewhere in Fox News PR.

Stay tuned…

> Update: A TV Eyes search shows that Wilson last appeared on Fox News on July 28.
