Charles Osgood Wins Weekly Fox/ABC Battle

In the now-titanic battle between ABC and Fox here in D.C. on Sunday mornings, yesterday’s big winner was…..CBS!

Yes, while “Fox News Sunday” locally scored a respectable 2.3/7 and ABC’s “This Week” scored a notable low of 0.9/2, CBS’ Sunday Morning with Charles Kuralt rocketed up to 5.3, a whopping two whole points over the previous Sunday. (For you purists, CBS scored a 5.1 for the 9-10 a.m. hour directly opposite FNS and TW).

While Chris Wallace interviewed Stephen Hadley, Dick Durbin, and Mitch McConnell and George Stephanopoulos prattled on with John McCain, CBS Sunday Morning was a special show focusing on living “The Good Life,” live from the Rockefeller’s estate at Kykuit–proving once again that there’s no more sure-fire ratings winner than putting Bill Geist in a hottub with beautiful women on the French Riviera. It certainly got our attention…
