Chris Wallace On Debates

    “How would the mainstream media react . . . if right-wing Republican groups were insisting that Republicans couldn’t . . . do a debate with The New York Times or MSNBC. They’d view it as selling out to the right-wing nuts.”

    Wallace spoke by phone from South Carolina, where he was preparing to interview Sen. John McCain and his wife following McCain’s formal announcement of his candidacy for the Republican presidential nomination after months of campaigning. The interview, which kicks off a lengthy “Choosing a President” series, airs at 9 a.m. Sunday on Channel 6. This Sunday marks the show’s 11th anniversary.
