Court TV Launches D.C. Bureau

savannahguthrie.jpgOur cousin TVNewser reported today that Savannah Guthrie, a former WRC-TV reporter, will be Court TV’s lead correspondent in its new Washington, D.C. bureau.

“Guthrie, who was previously based in New York and traveled the country covering trials for the network, will now be based in the nation’s capital, reporting on legal and judicial news. Additionally, Court TV News Senior Field Producer Bryan Lavietes has been assigned to the bureau. Both positions are effective immediately,” the network said today.

She’s no stranger to Washington, where she’s covered the 9/11 attack on the Pentagon and, more recently, the Supreme Court confirmation hearings. A legal Hoya, she also worked for D.C.’s Akin Gump Strauss Hauer and Feld.
