‘CQ’ to Join ‘Roll Call’ Under Economist Group
First on FishbowlDC: After months of speculation, FishbowlDC’s sources have confirmed that Congressional Quarterly will join Roll Call under the Economist Group umbrella.
An announcement date and financial details about the acquisition were not disclosed but sources say that the statements and information about the sale will be made in Q3 directly by the London-based Economist Group.
Bloomberg L.P., Atlantic Media (National Journal Group/The Atlantic), Allbritton Communications (Politico/WJLA) and even some mysterious VCs had been rumored to be bidding on CQ since January when Times Publishing Company announced that they would explore the sale of the Capitol Hill publication.
