Detroit News Reporter Heads to CQ

Nathan Hurst, a Washington reporter for The Detroit News, is going to work for CQ as a transportation reporter.

See the internal memo…

To the news staff:

I’m happy to announce that Nathan Hurst, a Washington reporter for The Detroit News, will be joining us to cover the transportation beat in Paul Hendrie’s group. Nathan has worked at the News since 2007, where he started as an intern and was then hired on to work on the business desk to cover aviation and other transportation issues. He was sent to Washington in January 2010, where he’s been covering the Michigan delegation and blogging regularly <http://apps.detnews.com/apps/blogs/dcblog/index.php?bloggerid=230>  about the politicians and policies involving the state.

Nathan is a 2007 graduate of Emerson college in Boston, where he studied print and multimedia journalism. During those years he held internships at Boston.com, the Boston Globe, the Seattle Times, the Salem, N.H. Observer and the Eagle Times in Claremont, N.H.

In addition, he was a National Press Foundation Paul Miller Fellow last year, serving with CQ Roll Call’s own Stacey Skotzko and Jessica Brady.

Please welcome him on his first day, Sept. 19.
