Examiner Says ‘Fete’

The D.C. Examiner’s top story on A-3 today was a totally objective review of its own launch party last night at the National Museum of Women in the Arts.

The party, complete with eagle-themed ice sculpture, saw Publisher James McDonald promise, “A new-style paper not driven by traditional conventions…. A paper that is meaningful and engaging to readers and efficient and effective for advertisers.”

The self-proclaimed “star-studded” guest list ranged from politicos (Sens. Salazar, Allard, Hatch, and Allen) to sports (Skins owner Dan Snyder) to business leaders (AOL’s Steve Case). No word, though, on whether Gossip Gal Karen Feld’s poodles attended.

Unfortunately, yet again, Fishbowl’s invitation to the 600-guest event must have gotten lost in the mail. Examiner folks, if you’re listening, we’re beginning to take this personally.
