Gannon: Bring It On
Lots of DC journalists are shaking in their go-go boots over the upcoming trial of Scooter Libby. As was recently reported:
- “Lawyers for a former top aide to Vice President Dick Cheney told a federal judge Friday they want to subpoena journalists and news organizations for documents they may have related to the leak of a CIA operative’s name.” This led Lucy Dalglish, executive director of the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press, to say, “”Every key witness in this case is going to be a reporter…It’s an absolutely ugly situation…putting reporters in a very, very bad position…and it should send a chill up the spine of American citizens across the country.”
Well, guess who’s not scared? Jeff Gannon. And it’s not just because he works out a lot.
Says Gannon: “If you recall, I was the first reporter to confront Joe Wilson about the memo that proved he was less than honest about how he came to be chosen for the mission to Niger. I’m ready to testify – in fact – I’m looking forward to it.”
