Getting All Wu-zy: The Troubling Aftermath

A 56-year-old congressman claims to have had a consensual sexual encounter with an 18-year-old woman who happens to be the daughter of a friend. That’s creepy enough right? But the stories post resignation of Rep. David Wu (D-Ore.) uncover a history of creepy even we didn’t necessarily want to know about. But now we’re hooked. No way out but through, as they say.

Syndicated conservative columnist Michelle Malkin takes a crack at the scandal behind the scandal. In her column today she writes about the “creepy enablers” of the Wu scandal. Her list includes House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), Stanford University officials, Wu’s staff that kept him hidden from public view, and House Dems whom she said poured money into his campaign coffers while he was busy getting weirdly busy. Her column is worth a read with details of past sexual indiscretions that aren’t necessarily prevalent in the mainstream press. Read here.

The Atlantic Wire also digs deep into Wu’s disturbing past. The headline grabs you by the throat: “It’s Not Just the 18-year-old: A List of Disturbing Stuff Wu’s Done.” The strange acts on this must-read list include more details about the Stanford incident with his then-girlfriend, crashing a rental car, a freaky airport outburst, and bizarre emails he wrote to female staffers he wrote while channeling his teenage children.
