–WaPo editor Richard Leiby in the Intro to Journalism class he is teaching at George Washington University Thursday night. Students had just turned in obituaries that they had written. Leiby, to make things easier, had informed them of the cause of death for their live subjects, some of whom were a little taken aback by the assignment.
More Leiby advice on the obit assignment: “The lesson here is as a journalist you will do things that people don’t want you to do and you will have to badger them.”
